Reclaim the Professional Identity You Earned

You can make your judgment, impact, and value easier to see - then put that clarity to work across materials, conversations, and a focused search.

A thoughtful coaching conversation between two professionals.

Your experience is not the problem.People need to be able to see what it means.

The Problem I Solve

From Scattered or Technical Experience to a Career Narrative That Opens Doors

Real Edge Coaching helps STEM leaders in HCLS (PharmD, MD, MPH), Tech (MSCS, MS-ISS, MSDS), Consulting, and Nonprofit -- plus PhDs and MS experts in any field turn complex experience into a career narrative other people can understand and trust. The work starts with perspective mobility: moving beyond the "no one gets me" loop into your audience's needs and the larger business reality. Then I use SCAR, WIIFT, MASTER-D, and story architecture so your resume, interviews, networking, and leadership conversations all carry the same credible arc.

Most clients come to me at a specific inflection point. They're accomplished. They have more to offer than the way they're currently being seen - in job searches, leadership rooms, promotion conversations, or environments that have stopped recognizing their value.

The problem isn't their credentials. It's the perspective gap - the space between what they know they did, what their audience needs to understand, and what the market or organization is actually trying to solve.

I don't just fix resumes. I rebuild how you communicate your value in every room you walk into.

Most recent result: Scholar Rock (biomed) interview within 48 hours. Same credentials. Hand-crafted narrative. Completely different story.

The Core Method

The 3 Worlds of Perspective

What I call "soft skill engineering" starts by escaping your own perspective, where your view feels like the whole truth, and the pain becomes "no one gets me." With 188 named cognitive biases and counting, everyone lives inside their own perspective bias; it is simply easier to see someone else's distortion than your own - the naive-realism trap. Rising out of first-person self-focus to enter the second-person perspective of your audience, and ground the story in the larger truth of the market, organization, workflow, or system, requires the same rigor you use for engineering hard phenomena: physics, electronics, biology. Gaining perspective mobility is what makes resumes, interviews, networking, and unexpected questions improve together.

The Complete Behavioral Science Stack

Not everyone needs the full stack. But when your confidence, trust, communication, and narrative have all been affected, the sequence matters. Most career coaching addresses one layer of the problem; I can address all four because each layer enables the next.

Layer 1 - Emotional Regulation

The Foundation

Before I build your narrative, I address what's underneath it. If your environment has eroded your confidence, activated a threat response, or left you in survival mode, no amount of resume optimization reaches the real problem. I start here - with a scientifically-proven emotional management practice developed by a PhD that resets your baseline so everything else works faster and lands harder.

Layer 2 - Trust Architecture

The Science

The MASTER-D Trust Framework - grounded in Cialdini, Kahneman, Goleman, Cuddy, Edmondson & Thaler. The behavioral science of building trust in high-stakes professional relationships. Applied to careers, leadership conversations, toxic environment exits, difficult bosses, and any context where your expertise needs to land with people who think differently than you do.

Layer 3 - Perspective Mobility

The Soft Skill Engineering Shift

WIIFT - What's In It For Them. The mental model that moves you from first-person expertise into second-person audience concerns and third-person business reality. This is the architecture of influence: what I sometimes call "soft skill engineering": not manipulating people, but escaping the sunken-place loop of "no one gets me" so you can see your own bias, then see what the room, relationship, market, or system needs before you answer. The practice is simple to name and hard to master: 1st person, what I did; 2nd person, what they need; 3rd person, what the world requires.

Layer 4 - Narrative Construction

The Output

The SCAR Narrative Method - Situation, Complication, Action, Result. SCAR brings story architecture into business communication: what mattered, what got harder, what you did, and what changed. It turns your technical expertise, clinical depth, and business impact into the specific, compelling stories that hiring managers, executives, promotion committees, and decision-makers immediately understand and remember. The hand-crafted resume, interview talk tracks, and LinkedIn narrative are built here - from a grounded, regulated, WIIFT-oriented baseline.

Starting with Layer 1 when it's needed helps the rest of the work move faster, land cleaner, and hold under pressure.

The stack explains why the work holds. The process below shows how I apply it: first stabilizing the baseline, then using perspective mobility to architect materials, conversations, and search strategy that other people can act on.
